Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK's radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community. The Public File is available on-line, and as a print out. Any comments on the file can be made to us or Ofcom. 2 News Bulletins Below are details of how often we broadcast news bulletins and whether they are local, national or international news. Currently we automate 11 hours during weekdays (0000-0600, 1900-0000), 12 hours on a Saturday (0000-0600, 1800-0000) and 20 hours on a Sunday (0000-1000, 1400-0000) All output broadcast on Splash FM is produced and presented from studios in Worthing and Hailsham. Programming is shared with sister stations, Bright FM, Sovereign FM and Arrow FM (apart from between 0000 and 0600) 7 Any other issues or areas of interest likely to impact on localness There are no current issues that impact on the localness of the station. 8 Events & Charities we support Splash FM is very active in the support of local charities, and works with a number of organisations on events through the year. Charities we have worked with in recent months include St Barnabas house, Chestnut Tree House, Guild Care, Worthing Churches Homeless Projects and the Enable Me Project. Splash FM supports local charities and non-profit organisations through its ‘Help Point’ feature. Over recent years, Splash FM has regularly teamed up with local company Saywell Interrnational on a range on initiatives to financially help local charities or voluntary organisations
Splash FM supports, attends and broadcasts from local events whenever possible, and promotes them in its ‘Events guide’ feature which airs through the day, seven days a week. Events we are regularly involved with include:
