Every Week
People who live in Fishersgate can benefit from great services, available at the Meet-in-Place, a new community facility. There's loads going on each and every day and it's nearly all free. These include a Parents Coffee morning, a toy library, Family Art Fun, a family and childminder drop in, a drug and alcohol support drop in, Connexions drop in service, JobCentre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau and Local Neighbourhood forums are also held. The Oasis Centre at Northbrook College on Broadwater Road in Worthing is the venue for friendly and informal computer courses for beginners. Being held on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, these courses offer everything you need to get started on your home PC at a cost of just £10. The first Monday of the month
"The Group" is the Sussex organisation for unattached people, aged 40 plus, who meet at a pub in Worthing on the first Monday evening of every month at 8pm. They also organise lots of social activities including walks, dinners, sport, theatre. Phone Chris Worthing 247795 for more details.

The Durrington Country Market takes place every Thursday morning from 10am til 11am in the Durrington Church Hall, opposite the Lamb Inn. You can browse the stalls and pick up some of their great home made produce including cakes, savouries, honey and marmalade plus vegetables, eggs and plants. Sit and enjoy a coffee while you shop.

Age Concern has an outreach service in Worthing for information and advice. This is now available at West Sussex Credit Union, Crescent Road (next door to the Salvation Army Welcome Inn) on Tuesdays 10am to 1pm. The service offers help with welfare benefits, housing matters, health and social care, leisure and social activities and most other things that affect the lives of people aged 50 and over, their families and carers.

West Worthing Country Market is held at The Heene Community Centre on Heene Road from 10 am to 12 pm. They offer a wide range of crafts, cards, turned wood, homemade jams, pickles, cakes and savouries plus fresh vegetables, farm eggs and plants.
First Monday of the month
Bingo evening in aid of the Mary How Trust for Cancer Prevention at Ravenscroft Guide & Community Centre, Browns Lane, Storrington, from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. It promises to be a fun bingo evening; only 50p entry; great prizes; raffle & refreshments. Everyone welcome! This event is held on the first Monday of every month.

Jubilee Community Church run their mums and toddlers group at East Worthing Community Centre, Pages Lane, Worthing every Wednesday from 1pm-2.30pm. It costs just £1 per family, with the first visit free. It is a Jubilee Church initiative and also receives funding from Worthing Community Partnership. Everyone is welcome.

The Worthing Panthers are community cheerleading squad based in Worthing. Cheerleading is an exciting sport for boys and girls that combines cheer dance, gymnastics and stunting. Their club is open to children aged between 5 and 15 years old and they are recruiting now! The Worthing Panthers train on Monday evenings weekly at the Pavilion at Field Place. "Taught in the Act Theatre Company" - aimed at children between the ages of 6 & 12 years. Classes are held every Saturday morning at Ferring Village Hall, Ferring Street from 10am - 12pm. Fees are £5 per child. The children will produce a devised show every 6 months so the parents can see how well the child has developed. We truly believe that acting/theatre/the performing arts is a great way to build a child's confidence and self belief - as well as encouraging the making of new friends, in a fun and safe environment.
